Community Outreach Program

October 16, 2016

One of the goals of the Conservancy is to provide outdoor education opportunities for local school children. The Conservancy has sponsored several field days for 6th grade and 10th grade students since 2007 to access Big Grizzly Creek and the trails leading to the top of Sally Peak. Conservancy staff worked with local teachers to develop educational programs including water quality monitoring for fish, native plant identification tours, and demonstration of fly fishing techniques. We will continue to work with the Plumas County School District to plan and conduct an outdoor education program for Plumas County schools. Read about some of our previous outreach programs here.
